We’re carrying out this survey to understand community feedback on our proposed draft Annual Plan for the next financial year (1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024).  This feedback will be considered by Council ahead of adopting the Annual Plan and setting rates for the year ahead.

This survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Once you complete the survey, our Research and Evaluation team will compile and analyse the results.  The results of this consultation will be reported to Council, and we will also communicate the results of this consultation and Council’s final decisions back to the community in July 2023.

Near the end of the survey, there’s an opportunity to give us written feedback on any of the changes that we are proposing. This could include your thoughts on any possible impacts these proposed changes could have.

    Privacy Statement

We collect, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and the HCC Privacy PolicyProviding personal information in this survey is optional. Your information will be stored in a secure environment, is only accessible to authorised staff, and will only be used for the purposes stated below.

The platform we use to collect your information is Bang the Table. Your information is shared with Bang the Table and any third parties they use to deliver their services. You can read the Bang the Table privacy statement here.

Council manages its records in accordance with the provisions of the Public Records Act, which includes the authorised destruction of records once they are no longer required to be kept for legislative compliance or business purposes.

What information is being collected in this survey and how is it used?

You are asked to optionally provide demographic information (what city and suburb you live in, your age range, and ethnicity) so we can gauge the overall representativeness of survey respondents compared to the overall make-up of our total population when we report collated feedback back to Council. This helps us understand what parts of our community are responding and which groups are under-represented, which can also help us to better target our methods of engagement in the future.

If you want to present to Council on their feedback, we collect a contact email so that we can follow-up to schedule you into a hearing. Your name (and organisation/group, if you are representing one) and feedback will be published in the Council agenda papers prior to the hearings in May, which are also open to the public.

If you want to be kept informed about the outcome of this consultation, we collect a contact email so that this information can be provided to you.
