Key Dates

To implement the building intensification changes required by the Government deadline of 20 August, Council voted to focus on making the necessary changes to the affected parts of the District Plan. The review of the rest of the District Plan will continue, with new proposed District Plan to be notified following completion of the intensification plan change.

Mana Whenua are sent a copy of the full draft for feedback.   

District Plan Review Subcommittee receives and considers final proposed intensification plan change for adoption and release for public notification. 

Policy, Finance and Strategy Committee considers recommendations from the above subcommittee for public notification. Additional Council meeting then considers the recommendations of the committee. 

Council meeting to formally adopt plan change for public notification.  

Mid-late August: Council publicly notifies proposed changes and statutory public consultation period begins and runs until 9 September 2022.
