We're consulting on changes to parking on Everest Avenue, and the allocation of carparks for the new Naenae Pool and Fitness Centre.

In March 2023 we consulted on the change of some angled parks on the southern end of Everest Avenue to parallel parks. We’re continuing this proposal but also seeking targeted feedback from local retailers who will be most affected by the change.

There will be cycle stands provided outside the main reception.

The drop-off zone for buses on Everest Avenue will be maintained and enhanced with new road markings. This is also used by schools to drop off classes for swimming lessons is used from 9.00am-2.30pm Monday to Friday and so needs to be kept clear.

A new change proposed on Everest Avenue since the prior consultation is the conversion of 2 of the remaining angled parks north of the pedestrian crossing from P120 (maximum 2 hours) to P10 (maximum 10 minutes).

There will be 28 offstreet carparks created to serve the new pool complex. We're proposing:

  • 2 mobility carparks,
  • 2 dedicated carparks for families with prams,
  • 4 EV charger carparks,
  • 6 carparks for Pool and Fitness Centre staff,
  • and 14 P120 carparks.
